Recently, we talked about the new generation of lithium iron phosphate batteries by BYD with prefix «Premium». In March 2020 in our hands appeared the first copies of the model LVL, yet now — LVS.
The battery BYD Box Premium LVS 8.0 from the first production batch arrived to us on January 11th. On the next day we installed it and put it into operation at the customer’s house. Probably, this is the first installation of LVS in Europe.

The peculiarity of the LVS model is its modular structure. Every module of the battery has a capacity of 4 kW·h, which allows precise planning of the amount of energy storage taking into account the needs of the client and the size of the technical room. Depending on the modules quantity, the system can have a capacity of 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, ..., 256 kW·h.
One block can contain up to 6 battery modules. Thankfully to the connectors, integrated in every module, connection happens automatically during installation. If our client decides to increase the energy supply from 8 to 24 kW·h, we will need about 10 minutes for the installation works: we will simply add 4 more modules to the existing block. A few minutes will be taken by the settings changes in the whole system, therefore for half an hour, including a coffee brake, we will do it.
It is really important that the area occupied by the energy storage (0.2 m2), with this extension will not change. This was one of the reasons why we offered the customer to wait a little bit, but buy exactly LVS, rather than LVL. The installation was planned at the curve of the stairs between the floors, so we were trying our best to keep the passage wide enough.
BYD Battery Box Premium LVS 8.0
The model BYD LVL is cheaper in terms of 1 kW·h, but harder to install, takes more space and allows expansion of the storage only at intervals of 15.36 kW·h: 30.72, 46.08, 61.44, ..., 983 kW·h.

Both of the models are good. The choice should be made taking into account the current needs and plans of the customer, as well as the available space for the system installation.
